Back at it

Friday: "Baby Helen" 3 rounds Row 400m, 20 one-armed kettlebell swings 10lbs, and 12 pull ups/ring rows
Saturday: Rest Day
Sunday: "Jake" 250m row, 15 squats, 250m row, 15 push ups, 250m row, 15 pull ups, 250m row, and 15 knees to elbows
Monday: No workout
Tuesday: 21-15-9 Push ups and Wall ball 4kg

I'm not sure if the week off messed me up or this weight gain is starting to make everything a lot more difficult but my workouts were pretty hard and I found that I got out of breath a lot quicker. This, however, has motivated me to find ways to workout when we're out visiting over the holidays.

My Smartest Move Ever

This was NOT my smartest move ever. On Saturday I was doing my workout, which was 4 rounds of row 400m, 10 squats, and 10 push press 15lb w/ dumbbell, when I dumbbelled my head. I got myself pretty good at the same time on both sides of my head at my temples. I was laughing b/c it was pretty funny but then I got a major headache that night and into Sunday. Jon had a crappy workout day on Sunday and has decided that he needs a week off or that his muscles do. Soo...I don't imagine that you'll see us at the gym this week. This will give a week to get rid of the bruise on the side of my head, too!

Nothing Exciting

I've been posting every three days b/c my workouts are so boring that I just can't bring myself to write about them everyday. This morning Jon told me that he was proud of me because I'm continuing to work out despite doing the same workouts everyday...hehe. I told him it was a good thing the workouts are short or I might loose interest more quickly.
Day 1: 24-18-12 Push ups and One-armed kettlebell swings 8kg
Day 2: 3 rounds 400 m row, 15 thrusters 22lbs, 15 push ups, and I think 15 of something else

Baby it's cold outside

Day 1: Didn't go to gym. Did "Maternal Fitness" at home.
Day 2: 3 rounds of 15 Step ups 20″ box, 15 Back squats 45lbs, and 15 Shoulder press 10lb DB’s
Day 3: "Jackson" 3 rounds of 15 wall ball 8lbs, 10 one-armed kettlebell swings each arm 10 lbs, 15 push ups and 15 pull ups.

Baby Picture


First the exciting bit...we had an ultrasound done this afternoon and the tech believes that the baby is a GIRL. Wow! This makes the whole baby thing seem a lot more real.


This morning I did 21-15-9 thrusters 27lbs and pushups, yesterday nothing, and Wednesday I did 4 rounds or 200m row, 10 push press alt w/ push jerk (21lbs for the first two sets and 26 for the last two) and 10 squats.

Past 3 Workouts

Day 1: 250m row, 15 squats, 250m row, 15 push ups, 250m row, 15 pull ups, 250m row, and 15 knee ups.
Day 2: 21-15-9, Wall ball 8lbs and Pull ups, rowed mile and a half
Day 3: 4 rounds 400m row, 12 back squats 45lbs, and 12 ring rows.

I find that I'm getting dizzy more often during workouts. Usually when I finish one thing and go to start the next thing.

On a good note, our absentee ballots found us today so looks like we'll get to vote!

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday I did 21-15-9 OHS 32lbs, Push ups and Step ups. I think 32lbs was the most weight I done on OHS because I believe the first time I did OHS was just last month with 22lbs. I also rowed a mile, did some shoulder presses at 32lbs, and did a yoga video at hom. So I had an uncomfortable night sleep and was sore this morning. The soreness could be from anything or from a mix of things. So today I took it a little easier and did a xtfit mom beginner workout (usually do intermediate). I did 3 rounds of 250m row, 22 KB swings (10lbs - 11 each arm), and 12 ring rows. I'm glad tomorrow is a rest day!

Chilly day

Today I did 3 rounds of 400m row, 15 thrusters (22lb) and 15 push ups. I was sucking at them. I felt dizzy after the push ups and was having some ligament pain which didn't make the thrusters or the rowing seem very fun. I had some ligament pains yesterday,too. It was good to see everyone and their families today!!

Sunday

So I didn't go the gym yesterday but I did walk the dog for about an hour in the morning and went the pumpkin patch with a girlfriend later in the day. It was a pretty full day of activity for this one. Today, I did 4 rounds of 12 shoulder press (22lbs), 12 knee ups, and 12 box steps. I also rowed 800m before and after the workout. Last time I did box step ups I got a bit dizzy but I felt fine this time!

"Baby Cindy"

This afternoon, I did "Baby Cindy" which consisted of 5 pull ups, 10 push pus, and 15 squats (but I did 25 for some unknown reason...it was even writen up on the board) for 10 minutes. I had every intention of keeping track of how many rounds I did but I forgot to do that, too. I'd imagine that I did about six rounds maybe seven. I also rowed 800m before and after the workout.

Today I did: Row 500m then: 15-12-9 Lunges and Good mornings 22lb bar. And in other news...I know I felt the baby moving this afternoon. I've felt stuff earlier but couldn't tell if it was gas or the baby. So that's exciting! I wish Jon could feel it, too. I know he's looking forward to that.

"Samantha"

Today I did 4 rounds of 12 back squats 45lbs, 12 ring rows, and 12 wall ball 8lb. I rowed a mile to start. This workout was tough! I'm not sure if it was tough because it had been awhile since I worked out or what but those ring rows were killer. It's good to be back at the gym and see Jen, Michelle, Dyphna, Kat and to meet Kristin. Yea for exercising! I was so impressed with everyone this morning. You are all so strong doing the workout as prescribed. I'm looking forward to hopefully joining you one day....

We Brought Friends

I was so excited to share Crossfit with friends today. We had one friend who's in town during a rotation at the hospital for a few weeks and another friend and her husband who just moved to town. They have a 10 month old daughter. I hope the friend in town will come back. Anyway the three of us did a xfit mom workout from earlier in the week. We did 3 rounds of 500m row, 16 one-armed KB swings 10 lbs, 15 lunges and 15 shoulder press 8 lbs DB’s. We timed it and it took about 22 minutes with breaks for water and to entertain the baby.

So I'm feeling much better and so happy to be back. Today I did 4 rounds of 200m row, 10 hang muscle snatch 21 lbs, and 10 squats. Yea for not being sick! Also, I got to work out with Kat today! I'm glad she's feeling well enough to work out, too!

Werid WOD

Today they had a crazy workout up. It included rope climbs. So I alterted it a bit. I ended up doing 3 rounds of 15 hang clean & jerk (45lb), 25 jumping pull pus, and 200m row. It was also awesome to see Jess. I haven't seen her in weeks!

Hot day

We didn't make it in this morning so we came in early this afternoon. Oh man, is it hot. I know I say that a lot but, it's totally true. I did 4 rounds of 400 m row, 15 step ups on middle sized box, and 15 4kg wall balls. I did this workout earlier this month and did 3 rounds. I am tired. I took the dog for a walk in the mid day heat, too.

Today's Baby Mama WOD

I did 4 rounds of 12 shoulder press 22 lbs, 12 knee ups, and 12 step ups medium box. I enjoyed seeing everyone at the gym this morning. Michelle, Jen, and Nat you all did so well this morning. You impressed me with your times and your weights! Nice going :-) I rowed 2 miles, too. Forgot about that.

This morning I walked the dog while Jon did 5k and then we came to the gym later this afternoon. I did "Baby Nancy", which consisted of 5 rounds of 400m row and 15 overhead squats 22lbs. This was my first experience with overhead squats and did not enjoy them! I think if I were lifting anything heavier my wrists would've snapped.

Ok I lied

I did work out in the afternoon today so my vow to not work out in the pm until after the first frost is worthless. What a nice day though. Not too hot and it didn't look overcast all day. Awesome! Wish I had gone outside more now that I think about it. I went to the library today and got my library card. The last time I went, I didn't have proof of residency and almost cried on the way out b/c I couldn't get a card. Hehe, I'm blaming the hormones. So back to working out, I did Jumping pull ups, knee push ups, and 24lb kettle bell swing 24, 18, 12.

Hot Hot Hot

It was totally hot this afternoon. It may be the last and only time I work out in the afternoon before the first frost. Holy Moley. Not sure how to spell moley- moly, molie? Anyway I did 3 rounds of 400m row, 12 one armed DB muscle snatches #15 (half each arm),12 push ups, and 12 squats with lots of h2o breaks in b/w. Jess, sorry I missed you at the pool. I'm not sure what happened. I got to the pool about six minutes late (got a little turned around) and the people at the pool said it was closed. I hung around for awhile but didn't see you. I'll get your phone number before we do it next time :-)

Friday Schedule

I don't think Jon and I will be in the morning due to some scheduling conflicts. We might be in the afternoon or do some stuff at home. HOWEVER, I'm still available for swimming so please let me know what's up.

Correct Number of Rounds!

I did the correct number of rounds today! I did 4 rounds of 12 back squats (55 lbs), dips, wall ball (3kg). The workout said ring dips instead of dips but I'm not sure how to do that and Jon looked pretty intense in his muscle ups so I'll figure it out another time. Jon did the workout Jason. It was good to see Kat this morning! - Good luck this weekend!!!

Wednesday

I haven't worked out in almost a week! I can't believe it's been that long. This was my last trip until mid-October though so I should be more regular in my exercising. I did the xfitmom work out today but I remembered it a little bit different than what it was. I did 4 rounds of 400m row, 15 32lb thrusters (last set 22), and 15 push-ups. The website called for 3 rounds. Oh well more workout for me! Maybe I'm punishing myself for my days off subconciously. See ya tomorrow. :-)

Deadlift

Did WOD, Deadlift 3-3-3-3-3. My progression went as follows 95, 100, 105, 110, 115. My PR is 125 lbs. Not too shabby. I did attempt 135 after I finished but that was not happening today. I'm off again for the weekend. I'm going to a friend's baby shower in Alabama. Jon will be around this weekend though...keep an eye on him ;-)

Push Jerk and Back Squat

On my push jerk from yesterday I did 32, 44.5, 50, 55, 60, 65 all 3x and 67 1x. Today, I did back squat 55, 65, 75, 85, 95. I wonder what tomorrow will bring... I've enjoyed seeing everyone at the gym, working out with Nat, meeting Rick(!), and yes even entertaining the kids. See ya tomorrow.

First Doctor's Appointment

Well fellow crossfitters, it's true...I'm pregnant. I'm about 10 weeks and I had my first doctor's appointment today. I got to see and hear the baby so it was pretty exciting! I was pretty freaked out about miscarrying but I'm feeling a little more secure after hearing and seeing the little tike. See you tomorrow!

Tabata Something Else

Poo on Tabata. Looking at the workout I didn't think it would be difficult and then we saw Michelle walking home as we were driving up. I said "uh oh, she looks really tired. The workout must be really hard." And I was tired afterwards. My score was 332, I think. I did jumping push ups, man push ups probably about half way through then switched to push ups on the box, did knee ups instead of sit ups due to slight bottom injury from last sit up attempt. Jon and I are going to Charleston SC and then to NC to visit Jon's buddy. We should be back Monday. It was nice seeing and working out with Nat today. She always impresses me with her determination and motivation!

WOD

Did the WOD today. Exchanged muscle ups for jumping pull ups and dips. Used 32 lb for thrusters. Completed in 27:02. I probably could have gone up in weights on the thrusters to really push myself but I was pretty tired when I was finished. Also, got a PR in getting ready for church including taking shower and doing hair - 30 min! Pretty proud and I do clean up well if I don't say so myself.

CFT

Today I did CFT instead of the crazy pull up/dip workout. I got PRs on all the lifts! My CFT score was 303. Push press 48, Deadlift 115, Back Squat 125 (or the other way around for the squat and dl). Wait...that doesn't equal 303. Okay maybe my score was 288 or I got my amounts wrong for the lifts. I guess I'll have to recheck that next time.

I'm back to blog land

We took a week off of working out and man was it hard to get up and going this morning. But I feel better after working out and getting back in to our routines. We did have a nice time at the wedding and doing touristy things with the in-laws. So today, I did the WOD (3 rounds of 100 jump ropes, 50 hip extentions, 50 sit-ups) in 28:32. I also haven't kept track of my shoulder press PR. I didn't think I could lift the regular bar but Kat and Dymphna thought that I already did. So I'm not sure if I did it before but I did it today! I felt good about that!

Wall Balls

150 9lb wall ball in 13:15. My calves are in pain! Plus, 17 push ups. Jon and I are going to a cousin's wedding in Ohio on Saturday so we will not be in the gym on Saturday and Sunday. The in-laws are driving back with us for a short stay. We might come to gym earlier in the morning so we can spend more time with them during the day. Catch you all soon!

Pull ups and such

I did the WOD today. One handed squat snatches and pull ups. I completed it in 16:09 doing jumping pull ups and not quite snatching the correct way using 10/8 lbs. I worked out with Kat and Natalie. Both women were awsome and worked hard. Natalie looked amazing with your squat snatches. She really squated! Her determination to do things correctly is inspiring!

Back Squat

Did back squat this morning. I did 5 reps of each set: 45, 55, 65, 75, 85 and then did singles to get a new PR of 105. I tried for more and got in mess so 105 was it for today. I feel good about it though. I also joined Jess in push-up challenge. I wore my crossfit shirt to Kroger today wondering if anyone would stop me and ask me about it but no one did. I'll have to figure out somewhere else to wear it. Maybe I should cut off my sleeves to display my muscels (just kidding)!

Internet Down

Our internet was down for about 30 hrs and I felt so helpless and lost. It's weird how much I've come to rely on the internet for everything (directions, phone numbers, communication, etc...). Anyway we're back up and running now, it's good to be back. I have two days of workouts to report. Yesterday, I did front squats I think for the first time and maxed at 97lbs. The last one didn't look pretty but I got it. Today, I did an alternate workout of box step-ups (18in), back squats (big/regular bar) and shoulder press with dumb bells (2-10lbs) reps of 21, 15, 12. As always I'm looking forward to rest day and seeing everyone back on Tuesday.

Fran

I did the alternate today. Not brave enough to face the 120 pull ups and dips. Kudos to all who did! When we left this morning, Michelle and Sally (???) were in the midst of the 120. They looked great! Anyway, so I did Fran with 22 lbs and jumping pull ups in 5:26 which is a new PR for Fran for me. I feel good about that but Dymphna says I need to go up in weight so we'll see how the next one goes!

Saw that the WOD was a 15k and decided umm no. So I did the alternate workout "Elizabeth." I cleaned 31lbs and did box dips in 5:40ish minutes. It was quiet this morning. I'm wondering how many people ran 15k...Michelle? Nat? Jen? See ya'll after the rest day ;-)

10 rounds of 10

Today I did the 10 rounds of 10 push ups (girly), sit ups, and squats. I think I completed it in 13:26. I was hoping to finish before Jon finished Helen but no such luck. It took a lot longer than originally thought....same with my work out yesterday....interesting. On a side note, I had a migraine yesterday and tried the rubbing the peppermint oil on my temples that Dymphna gave me and it worked well for a little while. I rubbed it on a couple times and it seemed to do the trick. What a great little magical oil! Hope everyone had good workouts today.

Too Hot

It was so hot today. I was boiling in the gym and trying to stay hydrated. I did manage to work out. I found a workout online that I wanted to try: 3 rounds of 500m row, 15 wall balls(about 8lbs), one armed KBswings-15 each arm, and 15 pull ups (jumping). It took me longer than I want to admit to do the workout with all my water breaks.

Getting Muscles


So yesterday we did the WOD. Kari got it in 5:20ish and I got it in a few seconds under 6 minutes but did stop to pose for a picture :-) On a side note we went to the Lovin' Spoonful downtown for lunch. It's a pretty cute place if you haven't been there. Today, I met two of the postal girls and worked on power cleans. I got a PR at 64 lbs and Kari got 54 lbs. Finally I bet my little sister! I feel good about my lift and hope this is a sign of more muscles to come.

Push Jerk

Tried to max on push jerk today. I got up to 56 lb...pretty good for my small little arms. I tried for 61 lbs but got scared and almost dropped the weight on myself. Time to quit for the day. Looking forward to spending rest day with my sister in Nashville. I look forward to bringing her on Thursday to meet CROSSFIT.

Row Row Row Your Muscles

Today, I did the WOD (2K row in 10:46) and tried to get a new PR on shoulder press. My shoulders were smoked from earlier but I did match my previous record. Hopefullly next time. On another note I got to meet TM and her crew today. I saw Michelle's time for the Flithy 50. WOW!!!! And Jess I hope your knee gets to feeling better. Holy Cow those are some Filthy 50s...

We were so tired after today's workout and it took us so long we didn't make it to church. Hopefully, we'll be forgiven for the missed day. Jon and I are both smoked. I feel good for once not to be the only one who is really tired after the day's workout. I had trouble sleeping last night and was very apprehensive this morning. I ended up doing the stinkin 50's in 38:22 minutes and I was totally proud of myself. Here are the changes that were made for my workout: I used a 12" box, 16 lb KB, did knee ups instead of knees to elbows, 16 lb push press, thrusters with 5 lb dumbells instead of wallballs, horrible looking burpees minus the push up, and one hundred single jump ropes. But hey I still did it in 38:22. Here's to hoping tomorrow will be an easier day...

New Blogger on Board

Today is my first day of blogging (ever) and hope to use this to track my CROSSFIT progress. I have been doing CROSSFIT for maybe 3 weeks or so and I am incredibly sore. I feel good about all the work that I have done and am really enjoying the people I've met through Crossfit Clarksville (http://www.crossfitclarksville.com/).
