Front Squat

Today I did the Front Squat WOD 10x5. My progression goes as follows 45, 55, 60, 65, 70. The 70lbs was difficult and I took a "mommy break" half way through the set.

First Doctor's Appointment

Well fellow crossfitters, it's true...I'm pregnant. I'm about 10 weeks and I had my first doctor's appointment today. I got to see and hear the baby so it was pretty exciting! I was pretty freaked out about miscarrying but I'm feeling a little more secure after hearing and seeing the little tike. See you tomorrow!

Tabata Something Else

Poo on Tabata. Looking at the workout I didn't think it would be difficult and then we saw Michelle walking home as we were driving up. I said "uh oh, she looks really tired. The workout must be really hard." And I was tired afterwards. My score was 332, I think. I did jumping push ups, man push ups probably about half way through then switched to push ups on the box, did knee ups instead of sit ups due to slight bottom injury from last sit up attempt. Jon and I are going to Charleston SC and then to NC to visit Jon's buddy. We should be back Monday. It was nice seeing and working out with Nat today. She always impresses me with her determination and motivation!

WOD

Did the WOD today. Exchanged muscle ups for jumping pull ups and dips. Used 32 lb for thrusters. Completed in 27:02. I probably could have gone up in weights on the thrusters to really push myself but I was pretty tired when I was finished. Also, got a PR in getting ready for church including taking shower and doing hair - 30 min! Pretty proud and I do clean up well if I don't say so myself.

CFT

Today I did CFT instead of the crazy pull up/dip workout. I got PRs on all the lifts! My CFT score was 303. Push press 48, Deadlift 115, Back Squat 125 (or the other way around for the squat and dl). Wait...that doesn't equal 303. Okay maybe my score was 288 or I got my amounts wrong for the lifts. I guess I'll have to recheck that next time.

I'm back to blog land

We took a week off of working out and man was it hard to get up and going this morning. But I feel better after working out and getting back in to our routines. We did have a nice time at the wedding and doing touristy things with the in-laws. So today, I did the WOD (3 rounds of 100 jump ropes, 50 hip extentions, 50 sit-ups) in 28:32. I also haven't kept track of my shoulder press PR. I didn't think I could lift the regular bar but Kat and Dymphna thought that I already did. So I'm not sure if I did it before but I did it today! I felt good about that!

Wall Balls

150 9lb wall ball in 13:15. My calves are in pain! Plus, 17 push ups. Jon and I are going to a cousin's wedding in Ohio on Saturday so we will not be in the gym on Saturday and Sunday. The in-laws are driving back with us for a short stay. We might come to gym earlier in the morning so we can spend more time with them during the day. Catch you all soon!

Pull ups and such

I did the WOD today. One handed squat snatches and pull ups. I completed it in 16:09 doing jumping pull ups and not quite snatching the correct way using 10/8 lbs. I worked out with Kat and Natalie. Both women were awsome and worked hard. Natalie looked amazing with your squat snatches. She really squated! Her determination to do things correctly is inspiring!

Back Squat

Did back squat this morning. I did 5 reps of each set: 45, 55, 65, 75, 85 and then did singles to get a new PR of 105. I tried for more and got in mess so 105 was it for today. I feel good about it though. I also joined Jess in push-up challenge. I wore my crossfit shirt to Kroger today wondering if anyone would stop me and ask me about it but no one did. I'll have to figure out somewhere else to wear it. Maybe I should cut off my sleeves to display my muscels (just kidding)!

Internet Down

Our internet was down for about 30 hrs and I felt so helpless and lost. It's weird how much I've come to rely on the internet for everything (directions, phone numbers, communication, etc...). Anyway we're back up and running now, it's good to be back. I have two days of workouts to report. Yesterday, I did front squats I think for the first time and maxed at 97lbs. The last one didn't look pretty but I got it. Today, I did an alternate workout of box step-ups (18in), back squats (big/regular bar) and shoulder press with dumb bells (2-10lbs) reps of 21, 15, 12. As always I'm looking forward to rest day and seeing everyone back on Tuesday.

Fran

I did the alternate today. Not brave enough to face the 120 pull ups and dips. Kudos to all who did! When we left this morning, Michelle and Sally (???) were in the midst of the 120. They looked great! Anyway, so I did Fran with 22 lbs and jumping pull ups in 5:26 which is a new PR for Fran for me. I feel good about that but Dymphna says I need to go up in weight so we'll see how the next one goes!
